Windsor Chair Cushions Spindleback Chairs

The classic casual chair has been a part of American homes since the 18th Century. This signature chair’s spindled sides and back were originally a wheel, but colonial artisans used steam bending techniques to create distinctively curving bow backs. Windsor chairs have been adapted to have high or low backs. Traditional versions have even included armrests. Despite all its evolutions, the Windsor chair has been a mainstay of conventional kitchens and dining rooms for over 300 years.

Tips on selecting cushions for Windsor Chairs:

Measure your brand. Many brands may look the same but come in a variety of sizes.

Barnett cushions contain shredded foam latex and conform to the spindles, arms, or seat if cut.

Measure across the width of the seat. If your chair is shaped like an hourglass, ignore the indentation.

Popular decor styles include colonial and country styles and traditional styles.

Ladderback chair cushions for Shaker chairs

Since the Middle Ages, ladderback chairs have been a feature of many homes. They were easy to make and were common in Colonial American homes, where furniture makers were rare. Although the Shaker chair has evolved into many designs, even ultra-modern interpretations, it is still the iconic gently curving Shaker design with tapered legs and seats made from woven rush or cane.

Tips on choosing cushions for ladderback Chairs:

The seats are usually proportionally smaller than those of other chairs. This makes it difficult to find cushions for them.

Our extra thick cushion is an excellent fit for most cane-seat chairs. It does an excellent job padding the knobby feet pressed into the seat surface. Be sure to measure your chair before ordering.

Popular decor styles include primitive country, colonial, and modern farmhouses.
